The Orchard has appointed Gita Williams as Senior Vice President, Artist and Label Services, US.
Williams is based in Los Angeles and reports to Mary Ashley Johnson, EVP Sales and Artist and Label Services, US and CA.
In her new role, Williams will lead The Orchard’s US Artist and Label Services division, developing and marketing the company’s signed artist roster as well as identifying and signing new talent.
Williams brings two decades of music industry expertise to The Orchard with experience in artist management, strategic marketing, and executive label roles.
Prior to joining The Orchard, Williams founded The Mehan Group, a boutique management and marketing firm.
In her role as a manager, according to the Orchard, Williams led overall career strategies for clients, and as a marketing consultant, she designed 360-degree marketing plans.
Williams has worked with artists and organizations including Labrinth, Solange, iamOTHER, Nipsey Hussle, The Carters, Jaden Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, ATO Records, Lateral MGMT, Par-Lay Sports & Entertainment, and many others.
Her previous roles include holding both the EVP Marketing and Interim Head of Label positions at Roc Nation, SVP Marketing at Epic Records, VP Marketing at Interscope / Geffen / A&M, and VP Sales at RCA Records.
