The appointment of Dipak Gupta as the interim managing director and chief executive officer of Kotak Mahindra Bank has been approved by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for two months.
Gupta previously served as the joint managing director of the company and will take over the new role as Uday Kotak, the founder and promoter of Kotak Mahindra Bank, has stepped down from his role as MD and CEO, effective September 1, 2023.
Gupta boasts over three decades of experience in the financial services sector, with significant contributions to Kotak Mahindra Group’s growth and development. He has overseen various critical functions, including IT, cybersecurity, Digital Initiatives, Internal Audit, Human Resources, Marketing, Compliance, Administration, Infrastructure, Operations, and more.
